Junkyard Dog Productions announced today that Broadway’s Tony-nominated musical Come From Away will start its North American tour at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre on October 9. The tour goes on to perform over 60 cities such as Los Angeles (The Ahmanson), Denver (Buell Theatre), San Francisco (Golden Gate Theatre), Vancouver (Queen Elizabeth), Calgary (Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium), Orlando (Dr. Phillips Center), Cleveland (Connor Palace), Ottawa (National Art Centre), and a Lot More across the USA and Canada.
Come From Away Maps Out Its North American Tour Course
Come From Away started performances on Broadway on February 18, 2017, ahead of a March 12 opening at Broadway’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, and is now in its next hit season, using another production currently running at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre along with a third firm set to start in Australia at 2019 in Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre.
The series consists of Irene Sankoff and David Hein and directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley. Set against the background of the dreadful events of September 11, 2001, the series follows what happens when 38 airplanes and 6,579 passengers are made to land in Gander, doubling the inhabitants of “one little city on the border of the earth.” It was nominated for seven 2017 Tony Awards, winning one for Christopher Ashley’s direction.
The Mark Gordon Company recently announced plans to produce and fund a feature film adaptation of Come From Away, composed by Sankoff and Hein, also led by Ashley.
COME FROM AWAY Extends During January at Toronto
Come From Away has declared another expansion to its conduct in Toronto! Twelve more weeks of performances will be inserted, from October 23, 2018, through January 20, 2019. This brand new block of tickets will go on sale Monday, May 7, 2018.
This expansion will take the series into the new year and will incorporate the very common holiday period, which will have a distinctive performance schedule
